Competition trophies - part of our history
Our competition trophies represent some of our history, often having been donated by people closely associated with the Club. For those who have not been around since our early years, here are a few notes about names - in alphabetical order - to the best of our recollections!
- Arthur Green Shield - Arthur Green was a member of the Club from its second meeting in 1953 until he died in the late 1990s. He was our honorary treasurer for many years, and also served as Chairman for a time in the early 1970s.
- Barclays Bank Shield - donated by Barclays Bank when one of our members worked in the Sevenoaks Branch
- Bill Barton Shield - Bill Barton was a member from the late 1970s until his death in the 1980s. Although not enjoying the best of health he was very active and as well as taking full part in the Club and served as a committee member for a time. He enjoyed creating audio visual slide shows which he showed at various clubs in the area, especially those catering for disabled people. The Club bought the trophy in his memory.
