Sevenoaks Camera Club: our pictures
These are my final images for my photography exam 2009. The idea behind the images is a political statement. The woman (me) represents many women in the world that strive to look perfect! The pressure to look good and achieve the perfect look is growing with the use of make-up and other extreme ways to modify the body! The clown facepaint is metaphorical; the facepaint represents women that are using too much make up and surgery making women look silly and not perfect at all! When women put make-up on they are covering up their true self physically as well as emotionally! Women seem to act more confident behind the mask of make-up as they believe they look sexier and subconsciously look down on others with attitude as they are that much closer to reaching perfect. But in the end what is perfect??? [Although Emma does not mention it herself, she did pass her photography A-level - well done.]
