Welcome to Sevenoaks Camera Club's web site
Sevenoaks Camera Club's aim is to encourage photography and to help our members to make better pictures. We are photographers of all abilities from in and around Sevenoaks. Most members are now using digital technology, but we do still have a few who use traditional film. But whether you use traditional or digital equipment, or a mixture of both, you will find beginners and experienced members, and there is a welcome for users of both media.
We hope our website will give you an outline of what we do and that you think about joining us.
Our activities
We have about 25 meetings a year, between September and May. The programme includes:
- talks by well known visiting photographers (from Kent or further afield) who show their work and explain their techniques
- regular
competitions for prints and digitally projected photos
- pictures are assessed and commented upon by external judges
- evenings run by members for members, either showing their photos or talking about some practical aspect of photography
- contests against other local camera clubs, and taking part in Kent County events
To complement our meetings, we have started a Google Group, for paid-up members, on which discussions can be started and followed on topics relevant to photography and the Club. It can be accessed via the link on the navigation panel to the left.
Have a look at these pages, and we hope they encourage you to come along. You do not have to join immediately - you are welcome to attend a few meetings to try us out before deciding to join. (But we do ask that you join please before entering any pictures in our competitions.)
